Born in Chicago, Jeff Burdick and his family have been Californians the past six years. He has moved in and out of politics most of his adult life, including living for a year in Washington, D.C., working on a winning Congressional campaign, working for state and local governments, and managing a Progressive Congressional campaign. But this election cycle, he is putting his political knowledge and principles to work for his own campaign in order to represent the voters of the CA-7 — and them alone.
He began his professional career as a journalist and later worked as a public affairs expert for a variety of large organizations. These included in the public sector for Caltrans and the Chicago Public Schools; for non-profits like the National Wildlife Foundation; and in the private sector for a large Midwest electrical utility. This work gives him a unique vantage into many core sectors of American life, government and the economy. Jeff is also a proud member of SEIU Local 1000.
Public service has long been in his blood. In addition to volunteering in multiple political campaigns, he was previously accepted into the U.S. Foreign Service and volunteered at a homeless shelter for nine years. A graduate of Northwestern University, he is an incurable Chicago Cubs fan who always catches the Iowa Cubs when they visit Raley Field to play the River Cats.
He, his wife and their son reside in Arden-Arcade.
