Burdick for Congress Has Solid Showing at State Dem. Convention
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – At this weekend’s California Democratic Convention (CADEM) in Long Beach, the big piece of business for Burdick for Congress was the final endorsement vote in our 7th Congressional District. The eastern Sacramento County district featured the lone Congressional endorsement involving an incumbent left to be decided – which is as great an indicator as any of how vulnerable Ami Bera is this cycle.
But no surprise, the incumbent ultimately found the votes he needed. As Jeff said, denying an incumbent the party endorsement is like going up against superdelegates.
However, Burdick for Congress surprised many with our final endorsement tally finishing in solid double digits. This indicated the campaign continues to increase its name recognition and remain on the pace it needs to be on with 2½ months to go until the primary ballots are mailed out on Feb. 4 ahead of the official March 3rd election day.
Much hard work remains to amplify the campaign’s message and unify all voters unsatisfied with Ami Bera’s corporate-backed, party-straddling ways. But the great news is this race is very winnable. All data points show Jeff is even more ripe to upset Bera than in 2018 when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset incumbent Congressman Joe Crowley.
So help amplify this campaign’s message locally by volunteering your time and donations today. Remember, Jeff is excepting no donations from outside our district. This is a campaign to represent only the voters of the CA-7, funded only by the CA-7.
